WHAT’S NEW?

🌟 Exciting News! 🌟 I am absolutely thrilled to announce an exciting partnership with the visionary organization, Do Good Points!

As we continue to grow this amazing community, it brings me immense joy to collaborate with like-minded people that share our passion for building strong communities and making a positive impact.

Our partnership with Do Good Points is all about engaging the community in meaningful initiatives that benefit not just the local community but also extend beyond its boundaries.

Andy Choi, the Founder provides an innovative approach to supporting nonprofit organizations and charities by gamifying the process, making it both fun and rewarding for everyone involved.

One of the key areas where we'll focus our efforts is generating support for greater marketing and promotional capacity for these incredible organizations. Often, the vital work they do gets overlooked or deprioritized during fundraising and allocation.

Together with Do Good Points, we aim to change that and shine a spotlight on the valuable contributions of these organizations.

In the upcoming months, we'll be exploring a variety of collaborative initiatives that not only serve the community but also offer an opportunity for everyone to get actively involved in these worthwhile endeavors.

So, buckle up and get ready for some initiatives that are currently in the works! Stay tuned to our social media channels because I can't wait to share all the exciting updates with you.

Together, we'll make a real difference and create a thriving community that cares for one another and beyond!

THE SUGARY EFFECT

🫙 Let's Normalize Water 🫙 - A Toast to Inclusivity!

Picture this: you're at a gathering with friends and/or family, and the moment arrives for a toast. Glasses are raised, and the atmosphere is celebratory. However, there's a by now expected twist—a clear glass, definitely not filled with alcohol, that catches everyone's attention.

Suddenly, judgmental gazes and uneasy reactions surface, fueling baseless fears of bad luck or misfortune.

But have we ever stopped to ponder the origins of this peculiar tradition?

This is a superstition that we dispense freely and accept as fact yet few seem to truly know the real story behind this practice. So, I took it upon myself to dig deeper...

It turns out that this custom can be traced back to two intriguing lines of thought. First, ancient Greek nautical superstitions associated toasts with water as a sign of hoping someone would drown—an eerie belief indeed.

Second, there were beliefs that drinking from the same cup or well during a toast served as a preventive measure against poisoning during gatherings involving rival powers, be it military or political.

Fast forward to the present, and we're a long way from those times. As a community, I’d like to think the essence and intent of a toast are far more meaningful than the contents of one's glass.

When we stigmatize a person's intent based solely on their beverage choice, we set a harmful precedent that echoes throughout social gatherings.

Let's break free from this cycle and create a more inclusive and understanding environment. Everyone should feel comfortable and welcomed to participate in the celebrations, regardless of their drink preference.

Here's to raising a glass, not just to water, but to embracing freedom of choice and celebrating each other's moments—whether with or without alcohol.

Let's toast to inclusivity and a future where judgment is replaced by acceptance! 🫙🍺🍷!

AND DON’T SAY I DIDN’T TELL YOU ABOUT…

Hey there, fellow New York enthusiasts! If you know me at all, you're well aware of my unyielding love for this incredible city. And guess what? Christmas has come early with the unveiling of the "This is a New York: 100 years of the city in our pop culture" exhibition at the Museum of the City of New York!

This exhibition is an absolute treat for all of us who cherish the essence of New York. It delves into the city's rich tapestry of stories, immersing visitors in a journey through a hundred years of pop culture. From mesmerizing visuals to captivating cinematic moments, soul-stirring music, awe-inspiring prose, and even the ever-evolving world of fashion—it's all there for us to explore.

Imagine an entire floor of the museum dedicated to this awe-inspiring exhibition, divided into thoughtfully curated sections that showcase the various mediums and methods of storytelling that New York has inspired throughout the years.

Sure, you'll encounter iconic reflections of storytelling that have become synonymous with NYC. But what truly sets this exhibition apart is the abundance of lesser-known creations and offerings that are equally—if not more—compelling. They beautifully reflect the diversity of expression that this vibrant city has sparked in the hearts of countless individuals over the decades.

And the best part? You've got ample time to experience it all, as the exhibition is set to run for about a year. So, make it a priority to set aside part of a day to immerse yourself in the magic of "This is a New York."

Trust me; it's worth every moment of your time, and I dare say it'll leave you beaming with pride to be part of the very unique fabric that makes such vivid storytelling possible in this amazing city we all call home.
