7:00pm (East Village): First Mondays Presents: ICONS w/ Robert Reid-Pharr, Lynne Tillman and Remembering Gary, Indiana - First Mondays invites our communities to experience readings of unpublished works and works in progress by an intergenerational group of vanguard writers. This season we continue to gather over free drinks in our theaters to hear writers discuss what’s on their mind and get a glimpse of the future of literature.

In performance, Garrett presents a surrealist fantasy that defies belief and challenges even the most skeptical mind to accept the impossible images flashing before their eyes. His show is a demonstration of visual poetry. The ideas he explores through sleight of hand are complex but his objective is simple: to create inexplicable, unforgettable moments for his audience.

In this Gather, we’ll explore the art of dream interpretation. We’ll process through writing and visuals, paying attention to the words, symbols, and prominent emotions of a specific dream. We’ll get comfortable engaging with our dreams, entering a multi-layered conversation with them to record and understand what they may be communicating.
